Iconic Spanish Wine Brand
About the Winery
Gran Feudo is a Spanish wine brand whose reputation continues to grow with the recognition of consumers year after year, to the point where it is the undisputed leader in D.O.P. Navarra. Gran Feudo is now well known in more than 60 countries.
It all began in 1872 when Claudio Chivite began construction of this winery in the heart of Navarra wine region. The family has continued to renovate and improve the winery to obtain wine with an excellent value for money proposition with consistent quality vintage after vintage.
The vineyards are situated in Navarra Ribera Baja, at Cintruénigo and nearby Corella, not far from the border with Rioja Baja. These vineyards cover 80 hectares and together with vineyards in Marcilla that provide an additional 110 hectares. These are supplemented by two exclusive contract vineyards. These five properties are the anchor of the Gran Feudo range.
About the Wine
The Bodegas Gran Feudo Reserva is a blend of 80% Tempranillo, together with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which gives the wine its structure, and allows it to age well. The wine is made using traditional vinification methods and a long maceration. Aged for 18 months in French and American oak casks, some of which are new, the wine is then aged for a further 18 months in the bottle before being sold.
The wine has a rich, intense ruby colour. Its aromas of ripe fruit is lengthened with notes of spice and oak. Complex in the mouth, this is a tannic wine with a good balance of fruit and a very agreeable finish. It will age well, and is the ideal partner for beef and game dishes.
