Clare Wine Company 'Polish Hill' Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

91/100 - 'Estate-grown from Polish Hill and Watervale districts; matured for 12 months in barriques (20% new French). A robust and powerful cabernet with bell-clear varietal definition, and the gold-plated guarantee of improvement in bottle for a minimum of 5-8 years.'

Clare Wine Co was established in 2008 by the owners of Kaesler Wines, Barossa Valley.

Winemakers from Kaesler, Stephen Dew and Reid Bosward are responsible for producing the wines under the Clare Wine Co brand. The company focuses on the three most success varieties of the region: Riesling, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Riesling excels in Watervale, the Shiraz and Cabernet comes from Polish Hill and represent some of the finest fruit found in the region. The oldest vines are 43 years old.

This is the wine I really like from this company many because I like Cabernet Sauvignon over Shiraz - just a personal taste.  But what I really like about this wine and vintage is the intensity of classic varietal flavours.  It’s full of blackcurrant, black plum and really well balanced with great tannin structure and length.  It’s drinking well now but will age

Enjoy :)
