Haan Prestige Shiraz 2013

Australia

Multi Award Winning Shiraz

The Haan philosophy was established right at the beginning with Hanenhof Vineyards being managed as a true wine estate. This 47 acre property in the heart of the Barossa Valley, one of the worlds renowned grape growing districts, was purchased by Hans and Fransien Haan in 1993, with the first wine produced in 1997.

Their clear understanding of wine excellence, providing the best possible conditions in both vineyard and winery has been the key to their success, allowing them to show distinct varietal Character and classical style. The vineyard is run on a ‘minimal input’ system, offering considerable environmental protection.

The Haan Prestige Shiraz 2013 follows on from the 2012, but this wine is even more generous and intense with fruit, the 12' was generous but this takes it to another level and then there's the all the other flavour nuances spice, dusty oak and well integrated. Cracking Pure Barossa Shiraz

94/100 - JH

It is released with 24 months wood and bottle age, and this wine will continue to improve over the next 5 to 10 years under good cellaring conditions. It will certainly reward those who are patient, but this classic style will also be enjoyed by those who cannot resist the immediate temptation. To fully appreciate this wine, we recommend that it be decanted 3 to 4 hours before serving.

Its quality has lead to a multitude of awards including:

  • James Halliday 2008 Special Value for Money
  • The 2006 Shiraz Prestige was awarded a Silver Medal at the 2009 London International Wine and Spirit Competition
