A Clever Mix
This estate grown Pinot Noir has been produced from 5 different clones including the rare Burgundian clones isolated by Dijon University from the best performing Pinot vineyards in Burgundy. D-block, where these grapes are grown, was planted in 1994 and has a valuable north-west aspect that captures the afternoon sun.
The clever mixing of the 5 different clones along with maturing the wine for twelve months, in a mix of new and older French oak barriques, has resulted in a “prettier”, “strawberries and cream” pinot with a lighter colour, softer tannins and more perfumed aromatics. The flavours of raspberry and ripe strawberries are balanced by more complex notes of spice and truffle with a creamy mid palate. The wine finishes with hints of mocha and redcurrant acidity supported by gentle tannins and spicy French oak.
The use of Screw Cap technology will allow this wine to be cellared, with confidence, for up to 5 years.
Enjoy:)
