The Harewood Estate 'Great Southern' 2013 Shiraz is a plush, juicy little number which will be ideal accompaniment for your Sunday roast lunch. Rich aromas of plum jam with whiffs of cracked pepper, anise and chocolate. The palate is quite rich, with choc-coated dark cherries, hits of earthy spice and toast French oak, fine tannins, and a juicy mocha finish. The palate will experience Initial flavours of black cherry and mulberry lead to a rich mid-palate of licorice and dark chocolate finishing with long fine tannins and the toasty spice and vanilla of premium French oak barriques. The colour is that of a dense crimson colour with youthful purple hues. The wines balance and structure, combined with the use of screw cap technology, suggest that it will improve with up to 10 years of careful cellaring.
